It has a higher refractive index than diamond and standard electronic diamond testers show it as being diamond, thus new diamond testers have been made to detect this synthetic. The above company sells it for many hundreds of dollars per carat. Very high prices for a synthetic stone that can be made on demand (no rarity and not natural). I met with the CEO of the company that is making the moissante several years ago and sold him some Canyon Diablos. They asked me for more information on C. Diablo and moissanite. This year they started marketing their synthetic stone with the Canyon Diablo connection. Happy Holidays to all, John Sinclair www.meteoriteUSA.com Received on Tue 26 Dec 2000 10:36:06 AM PST |
