In ten years time you will be lucky to sell the car for $4,000 or $5000. However you could probably sell the meteorites for what you have in them or if you are lucky or skillful you might be able to sell for $25,000 to $35,000 if well cared for. Hey look at all the extra miles that meteorites have on them!!!!! I don't advocate buying for investment purposes but there are few things that hold there value as meteorites do or at least have up until this point. As long as we have a good world economy they will have value. Also its not the reason I buy them but rather what they represent, where they come from, the secrets they hold and their great age. Also go build a spacecraft and have it rendezvous with an asteroid (please get the launch permits!), land and retrieve material and bring it back, recover it and figure out how much that costs compared to the fairly affordable prices on the ordinary chondrites we have these days. Meteorites are very cost effective when bringing them into proper perspective. One last thing is your wife wouldn't have any ground to stand on if not for the planetesimals that now make up this Earth and representative of the left over material we call meteorites.
