Urinites, as you know, are a modern phenomena, occuring when high flying
passenger jets "accidentl" jetison a small volume of fecal or urniary
matter.
Recently, a home was struck by one such Urinite which raises the question of
"Hot" or "Cold" (as well as "Number 1 " or "Number 2"). This material is
undoubtablty frozen by the low temperatures at high altitude. Obviously,
Urinites fall as a solid, frozen mass, capable of penetrating through a
wooden roof.
Classification of Urinites should be based on the location of the landing,
as with Meteroites and Tektites, but I believe that the flight from which
the Urinte originated should be considered: "Urinite from the Flight 745
from Denver to Washington".
Also, one must take into account the varyiong composition of such objects:
Urinites references those objects consisting 50% or more of Urine, while
"Fecalites" refers to objects consisting of 50% or more of solid waste.
Not to mention of course, the "Splatter Form" Fecalites.
Collectors on this list will be happy to know there is something New (and,
um, something old...) to add to thier growing collections. New comers may
find some rare Urinites or Fecalites and begin a collection that they can be
proud of in subsequent years.
A cataloguing of Urinite and Fecalite landings should be undertaken, by a
seasoned proffesional, with an open mind and a keen eye (and probably a good
sense of smell). Known strewn fields have not been outlined as of yet, nor
has the value of Urinites (and the much rarer Splatter form Fecalites) been
determined, but I'm sure theres more than one collector on this list who has
a desire to add one or two to thier collection.
