wrong Met Calendar images
Dear Paul,
do you mean on the front cover? I know the ones inside are all given with
permission because they are credited
I assume they did not put credits on the front because of the coloring.
I am a new meteorite fan and I came on to the project when it was going
belly up the first time in June.
I made all the bottoms but I had no hand in the rocks in the tops or the
cover. Robert Szep assured us that it was all Ok.
He is not the most organised guy (he doesn't even use a computer) and that
is why I had to take it over financially.
I'm sure Rob meant no copyright infringement on anybody but his filing and
dealing with details leaves something to be desired.
I am a chemist and details are my job. That is why it is actually finished.
I have spent 25,000 bucks on this damn thing bit by bit as I got in deeper
and deeper.
If I break even, I will be lucky. My intent was to help make something that
would promote meteorites to the world, not cause bad feelings with anyone.
If anyone sees a photo that is not given permission for, the responsibility
is Roberts. However I am sure he must have been confused if he allowed
comealive software to place non sanctioned images on the cover.
We would be glad to pay anybody any royalty they see fit, we can hardly take
them off now.
I hope we can smooth this out and people will still buy it. It is pretty
nice, I think.
Since I am now managing it, I extend my most humble and extreme apologies
for all involved in its creation.
Are the photos in question on the cover? Let me know which ones and I will
talk to Robert Szep.
Tell me how I can smooth this out, this is a very bad error and I will make
any restitution on the behalf of the calendar that will satisfy the owner of
the actual image. I asked Rob atleast five times about the inside ones and I
assumed the cover ones were from the same people.
I wish I could say more but all I can say is I wanted to make something you
guys would like. I am very disturbed at this turn of events. Please help me
rectify this if you can, we want to be members of the meteorite community in
good standing.
I will get to the bottom of this and correct the situation to the
satisfaction of the image proprietor.
I hope this will suffice to clear us of any intentional wrongdoing. after
all the money I have spent I hope you understand that we would not try and
save a few bucks by putting an un-authorized photo right smack dab on the
cover...
Please reply as soon as you can, my stomach is in knots over this...
Thanks ,Alex
