There is a Hypervelocity Impact Symposium in November 2000 in
Galveston, Texas:

I didn't see a formal definition of Hypervelocity. Since the
symposium seems to deal mainly with impacts from meteoroids and asteroids,
I would guess that it involves speeds much greater than supersonic, or
in the kilometers/second range.
