Hello All,
I recently received in trade, a small slice of the H4 chondrite Eustis,
Florida. The polished face of the slice has two distinct lithographies, one
darker and full of chondrules, and one lighter with fewer chondrules but
more inclusions of differing colors. There is a clear dividing line between
the two regions.
I posted a picture of the slice on the Net at:
http://Aristotle.isu.edu/eustis.htm
My question is how does one tell if two distinct regions in a small slice
are caused by brecciation, impact melt, or something else? Since the total
known weight of Eustis is only 502 grams, there are no large slices
available to study that may reveal a more clear picture.
Also, for those interested in micromounts, a small piece broke off during
shipping and I tossed it up on Ebay.
Cheers,
Martin
