An excellent article "Meteorites on Ice - Combing Antarctica for clues to
the solar system" by Beth Livermore, photos by Randy Korotev
Astronomy magazine July 99
Clip
..."For example, chondrites, the most common group of meteorites, may reveal
what conditions were like 4.6 billion years ago, as the sun and planets were
forming. Said to be the bricks and mortar of the cosmic world, they
represent the solar nebula from which the sun and planets evolved.".....
Good pictures of very fresh looking meteorites, Antarctic terrain, and one
of Monica Grady taking a break from plucking meteorites from the ice.
