I would repile the rocks somewhat, farmers would be wise enough to start
throwing unpiled stones in the direction of the "un-pile-er". On the
detector side, my Whites GM-3 with the regular loop would go 2-3 feet into
a pile for an iron and maybe 2 feet for a stoney or stoney-iron I would
presume depending on the size and how careful I searched the pile.
