Hello list!
Not sure if this is a well know about tape but here it goes anyway.
About a week ago I ran across a 2 tape video set called "Sudden Impact!".
Tape #1 is a (50 minute) GREAT tape about meteorites that includes (in order):
Peekskill footage/photos
Allende story/photos
Casa Grande(sp?)
Smithsonian footage, cutting rm and etching an iron (Neat to see!)
Hoba, Cape York,Carlton, Willamette photos
Bob Haag talks about meteorites, shows some GREAT pieces like Murchison,
Zagami, Moon Meteorite!
Meteor crater story/photos
Tunguska
Antarctic meteorites
K/T boundary story/extinction event (Iridium)
Shoemakers and David Levy footage on asteroid searches.
Spacewatch program/Tom Gehrels
The video goes into good detail on the different types and kinds of
meteorites as well and shows MANY great photos. A definate must have I would
say.
The 2 tape set cost around $10 at Media play. It's from Gold Hill video,
Thousand Oaks, Ca. 91360 and I believe the stock # is GH 244. Check your
local Media play or video stores. Sorry if this set is already known about
but thought I should share the info with you folks just in case.
