Re: Happy Canyon an EL7?

Hello Alexander and all,

My references (1997) list Happy Canyon as an EL6/7 impact melt breccia.
In Rubin's paper, "Shock Metamorphism of Enstatite Chondrites," to the
1995 Lunar and Planetary Science Conference he states, "Happy Canyon and
Ilafegh 009 were recently interpreted as having formed from
impact-melted EL material." He references a 1995 paper from Tim McCoy in
Geochem Cosmochem that was still in press at the time.

That's the most recent information I have at hand. Don't know if there
is anything more recent or who specifically made the EL6/7 or a possible
later EL7 designation for HC.
