Sky & Telescope, January, 1984, pp. 18-21:
The bolide's plunge was abruptly terminated by an explosion so great
that it registered on seismic stations across Eurasia. The resulting
atmospheric shock wave circled the Earth t w i c e (Author: Andrew
Chaikin).
Best wishes from sunny Germany with late afternoon temperatures between
86 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit and high ozone levels today.
