Clarification - New Nebraska Find

Dear List Members,

As previously mentioned, I have acquired a brand new Nebraska find (apx
700 g):

Name: Hebron, Nebraska
TKW: 22 kg
Found 1965, recognized Feb 1998

I stated that Alan Rubin at UCLA did a preliminary analysis and
classified this meteorite L6. This is not so. That information came
from the owner of the meteorite. I had a conversation with Alan today
and the meteorite remains unclassified; however, it still looks to me
like an H5, maybe H6, with some brecciation and a fair amount of
terrestrial weathering. Alan will be releasing the information when he
is done.

The stone was purchased from the finder for a moderately high price.
15 kg, which will represent the main mass, is for sale @ $15,000.
Otherwise, a few kgs are available @ $1.50 per gram.

At this time I am still selling small partial slices with fusion crust
at $1.50, with a 50 gram minimum.

Thank you,

Michael Casper
