Re: Holbrook strewnfield map
Hello Martin, hello list members,
I was there in October 1996 while being on a vacation trip to the SW
states, and had a closer look:
The site seems to be centered about 6 mi ENE out of town in the fields
along the railroad tracks. Two ways to get there: (1) out of town from
the railroad station along the tracks on what I would call a "dirt road"
(i.e. not always easy for an average car, though I took this one with my
rented car until I had to stop about 4 mi out of town in front of a deep
puddle finally), or (2) go east on I40 out of Holbrook to the Sun Valley
off ramp, then south towards the railroad tracks, then start looking to
the West. I spent an enjoyable 1/2 day there, collecting some few, but
weathered specimens.
Regards, Alexander
