Bern, I sometimes do have a sarcastic humor...but I wasn't trying to express
any sarcasm in this case. Nor do I consider this discussion over
bolide/fireball as a war. I consider it simply a discussion. I've gathered in
the process some interesting info about bolides/fireballs to add to what I
already know. As for "the word bolide having no meaning to me" is essentially
an expresson of my personal preference in usage. That is I personally use the
word Fireball to denote everything that is defining fireball and bolide
combined. All fireballs are fireballs. All bolides are a fireball. So I use
fireball in all cases. If someone says bolide, I interpret in my mind that we
are talking about a fireball. Now there is some accepted difference, but I
know once I get off this list the word bolide can once again mean different
things to the user. But Regardless how it is used, I still know they are
talking about a fireball.
