For what it's worth:
1) the best way to have an outstanding mailing list is to have
outstanding posts - so everyone get on with it and start
writing something we all would like to read!
2) most of the people reading seem to be collectors, I think
the scientists have departed mostly, so I feel short
new ads are fine. How can we attract scientists (hint: see
1 above)?
3) I'm opposed to censorship, I can handle the delete key,
I use it a lot, not just on infighting, but also when I read
me-too articles like this one.
4) I start off each morning and finish each evening reading this
list - thanks, Art! And in between, I carry around some meteorites
just for companionship. Oh yea, I also sleep on my new purchases
so they get a good welcome to planet earth. I bought my first meteorite
about 1968 or thereabouts.
5) FINALLY - I value simple ascii notes, without long inclusions -
please no HTML mail! Small pictures are OK, but they better be
good (no bigger than a dime seems about right).
regards from sunny Silicon Valley,
Jim Hurley
