If the Customs Border Services Permit Officer determines that the item
or items in question are not, in fact, included in the Control List, a
permit is issued automatically, without any significant delay. This is
also done in cases where the object in question had been imported to
Canada within the previous 35 years, or when imported by a non-resident
as a temporary loan to an institution or public authority in Canada.
It seem all meteorites "imported" within the last 35 years should have a
permit 'issued automatically, without any significant delay'.
