"CUTTING METHOD"

Coolant can also be a stream of compressed air. The airstream must be directed into the cut and the specimen must be moved into the blade VERY SLOWLY. This method works best on pieces that are 1" thick or less. Rather than using a diamond blade, a less expensive carbide grit blade can be used. Even a bandsaw type will work, but again the blade must be moving slowly, or the specimen going slowly into the blade. The compressed airstream must also be directed directly into the cut. (Wear earplugs!)
