Re: Monahans garbage

 Steve,
Understood. Thanks for the note. I did make a few comments in the past
month. They may be thought of as "a big stink". Although for some reason I
was booted twice (not on purpose as far as I know!) and had to re-subscribe.
Mainly that I felt the price of some of these new pieces were (IMHO) way the
heck out of line. I also commented that people can do what they want but I
wasn't going to participate in raising prices buy buying these specimens for
the (IMHO) outrageous sums that will be asked in the near future. I'm not
about to argue about the auction, people are free to be in it of coarse. I
hope the kids get a good sum of money naturally but there will not be many
people that will be able to buy a small piece of Monahans or Portales for
that matter if prices are allowed to be raised to unreal ammounts.
The details of this meteorite's auction was slow in coming. If you came out
immediately and gave the facts alot of this negative energy would have been
alleviated sooner. If the reporter took your comments out of context then I
understand and apologize. If not than my original comment still stands. I
didn't e-mail you personally because we were discussing it on the list, hey,
that's what it's there for. My comments probably wouldn't have made any
differance anyway.

Regards,
Tom Randall
