Hello list,
Walt has brought up an important factor in the purchase of any new meteorite.
Although less common in chondrites some meteorites are prone to rusting and
deteriorating and falling apart. Many pallasites are very risky because of this
like Admire. Paying out large sums of money for a specimen when its condition
to be stable or unstable is unknown should be a factor on all new falls. This
is another risk that a dealer often takes. I for one would exercise caution
before putting too much money in any new specimens without knowing these
characteristics.
