Speaking of Moldavites, many of the photos are now up in the Tektite
Catalog at the Meteorite Exchange site:
http://www.meteorite.com/catalog/index.html
Found among all the tektite photographs are 11 excellent pictures of
moldivites from 9 grams to 26 grams in size.
Also, for those interested, a good book on the subject is Moldavites: The
Czech Tektites by Vladimir Bouska (1994). This book contains many color
photographs and diagrams, especially of the search and discovery of these
most unique objects.
Regarding sizes, Bouska lists the largest moldavites from Bohemia as:
142.5g
130.7g
125.0g
115.0g
114.7g
110.9g
104.2g
96.8g
93.3g
and the largest from Moravia:
265.5g
235.0g
232.5g
220.0g
215.0g
198.0g
196.0g
177.7g
176.7g
167.7g

Happy New Year!
