New to the list
Hi, everybody out there!
I’d like to introduce myself as I am new to the list and because I think
it’s a pity you often don’t know who you are talking to exactly. My
address is: Bernd Pauli / Kolpingstr. 61 / 68775 Ketsch / Germany /
Tel.: 06202-65961. I’m (almost) 53 years and I’ve been an avid amateur
astronomer my whole life (I regularly read Sky & Telescope - Astronomy -
Sterne und Weltraum and every now and then the Austrian Star Observer or
the British Astronomy Now).
I’ve been passionately collecting meteorites for some 12 years now and
became a member of the Meteoritical Society in 1987 - so it was
interesting to find such illustrious names like Monica Grady’s or Jeff
Grossman’s among others in your mailing list archives (Nov 97) - persons
who definitely give this mailing list a serious look.
I’ve been receiving the Antarctic Meteorite Newsletter since 1986 - an
essential source of information especially before the days of the
INTERNET.
I was also one of the authors of SML’s WinMetCat, Version 1.0 database
and although I do no longer take part in that project I continue
updating my personal database which comprises the following entries:
US-Antarctic meteorites / Japanese Antarctic meteorites / Impacts /
Meteorites worldwide without Antarctica / Tektites / Comets /
Micrometeorites and interplanetary dust particles / Noble gases (MPI
Mainz data).
Best Regards, Bernd Pauli
