I knew this would open up a can of worms so this will be my only post to the 
list on this subject again. If you wish, E-mail me and we can debate, as this 
is not the place for the topic. I was simply commenting on the lost of the NEAR 
program and paralleled it to what I thought appropriate.

Lack of firearms can lead to oppressive governments and loss of self 
protection. I don't know how long it takes law enforcement officers to reach 
your house but its the only protection many have in rural areas. Statistics lie 
depending on who is using them for what ever purpose.

Automobiles kill far more children and I don't see a cam paine to outlaw those. 
I do think common sense needs to be used with ownership of a firearm and those 
who take it lightly are going to pay. Enough said.
