Depending on how large the crash was through the roof would determine if it
was a loss or not. I have seen in museums sections of roof, car top and muffler
that were bought as museum pieces. Also the Peekskill fall hitting the Chevy
Malibu produced a favorable result :-) for the owner as the car was bought for
more than it was worth. On the other hand it would be hard to sell a section of
roof or an entire house if a Canyon Diablo sized impact occurred :-) just a
thought.
