I was back at the Pasadena Convention Center again where Planetfest '97
will be held this weekend.  I would say about 90% of the displays and
exhibits are complete.  

I ran into Tom Bopp (of Comet Hale-Bopp fame) and Story Musgrave
(Space Shuttle astronaut).  I noticed that Southwest Meteorites had
their area already setup, but were not around.  I also met Robert Haag
in person for the first time.  We have talked many times on the phone
over the years, so we finally meet.  He showed me
his lunar meteorite (a 2g fragment), and surprised me by taking it out
of its case and letting me hold the actual meteorite!

Anyway, tomorrow is the Big Day with the Mars Pathfinder landing, and
I hope all goes well.
