Dear Jarmo,

If you spotted that connection without reading any of the theories 
on periodic extinction, you're doing well!

The three main ideas for an astronomically forced periodicity were:

1) Oscillation through the galactic plane (every 31 to 33 million 
years); 2) The companion star - "Nemesis" or "Shiva"  and 3) Planet 
X.

So you're bang on target with your dates (forgive the pun!)
